TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again examined Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi today, January 24, over pieces of evidence found at the latter’s office with regards to an alleged bribery case of grant fund project of the National Sports Committee (KONI).
“One of the [investigation] agendas is to clarify evidence that was confiscated from the ministry’s office during the last search,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah in a written statement, Thursday, January 24. Imam Nahrawi was probed as a witness for a suspect KONI secretary-general Ending Fuad Hamidy.
The anti-graft body searched Imam Nahrawi’s office on December 20, 2018, and seized documents and proposal related to the grant. The search was carried out since the mechanism for submitting the proposal must go through the minister.
Earlier, KPK had already investigated several officials of the ministry; the inspectorate general up to personal assistant of Imam Nahrawi.
In this case, KPK had named several suspects, including KONI secretary-general Ending Fuad Hamidy and treasurer Jhonny E. Awuy for giving the bribe, as well as the ministry deputy IV Mulyana, commitment-making official Adhi Purnomo, and the ministry staff Eko Triyanto as the bribe recipients.
